110% Flat Out Compression Sox

A post-run recovery favorite – 110% Flat Out Compression Sox. While the red, pink or green and white graphic against a black background add distinction, the gradient compression is the real selling point. 110% is an MVP in sport compression that, according to the product description, “…stabilizes muscles, reduces vibration and allows muscles to expand where needed.” This means welcome relief to lower legs and feet while you get on with the day. Also great for frequent flyers and those who stand on their feet a lot to help increase circulation.

Spenco TOTAL SUPPORTTM Sandals(1)

“The sandals your mom won’t yell at you for wearing!” So says Rebecca Landerman at Jacksonville Running Company when describing the great support offered by Spenco’s Total Support Slip on Sandals. Our 9 month Florida sandal season just got better for tired, worked over feet. Our favorite was the feminine Quartet with the decorative pierced leather and nubuck overstrap that disguised deep heel cupping and an orthotic-grade arch support cradle, which translates to total comfort.  You would never guess these are designed from the replacement insoles Spenco is known for. The straw colored Yumi’s with the cork footbed are perfect after yoga.

Colors: Yumi available in Chocolate/Blue, Straw/Java/Cork, White
Quartet available in Straw/Natural, Chocolate/Coral

Available at: Jacksonville Running Company, 9823 Tapestry Park Circle and 13760 Old St. Augustine Road

Specialized Allez Road Bike Line

Allez means “Go!” If you’re looking for a road bike to propel you into cycling, or if you’re the aspiring racer, the 2014 Allez line from Specialized is the perfect balance between reliability and speed—without crushing your wallet.
What does the Specialized Allez road bike have to offer? Quite frankly, a lot, starting with price. Entry level price is under $800. The Elite comes with 10 Speed Shimano tiagra drivetrain, carbon fork, and three-cross AXIS classic wheelset.

Bike Radar reviews rave the Allez as the branch between your mountain bike and an easygoing road bike. Whether you’re looking for a quicker way to work or to work on those racing legs, either way, the race inspired Specialized Allez is definitely worth taking into consideration.

For local reviews, look no further than Open Road Bicycles. An Open Road store owner, who has high-end, carbon bike options available on a whim, chose his aluminum Allez. When we asked him why, he said, “It’s just a good, solid bike. For the money, it’s hard to beat.”

Available at: Open Road Bicycles, 4460 Hendricks Ave, Jacksonville, FL 32207 (904) 636-7772

Price range: $770 – $2,400
