What’s Your Company Doing for Its Wellness Program?

The YMCA is getting ready to kick off First Coast Games. The annual corporate challenge, which features competitive sports, games and activities will run April 26 through August 28. The ultimate goal of First Coast Games is to benefit the overall wellness of local companies by encouraging employees to adopt a healthy lifestyle and build camaraderie among co-workers through friendly competition.

Instead of focusing only on competitive sports like basketball, soccer and tennis, companies will also enjoy fun events like bowling, kickball and dodgeball. In addition, every participating company gets access to:

  • A full YMCA membership for every participating employee during the Healthy Living Challenge in June and July.
  • Group training opportunities at local Ys, specific to your company’s events.
  • Opening Ceremony Field Day and Closing Ceremony 5K Run / Walk at the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens.

So, let’s play hard, work better, live well and let the games begin!

The employees from the City of Jacksonville look forward to the First Coast Games every year,” said Sandy Ilog, Office of Special Events with the City of Jacksonville.  “Not only are the games fun and competitive, it also builds new friendships among other employees who may not have ever had the opportunity to meet before, especially in such large companies or organizations. I love bringing people together, especially for a good cause!
